The Herbal Apothecary

Medicine Making & Mentorship Course

Learn to craft your own effective herbal remedies while building your home apothecary with this comprehensive hands-on make and take course.

The Herbal Apothecary is a practical herbal medicine making and mentorship course created by registered clinical herbalists. Classes are facilitated by Megan Kendrick, RH, clinical herbalist and owner of Wild Medicinals. To learn more about Megan, click here.

This course will teach you how to prepare and use some of the most common herbal preparations. Each class will consist of hands-on instruction in the preparation of potent and effective herbal remedies. This is a make and take class, meaning you will leave each class with a portion of every preparation we made, allowing you to build your own home apothecary throughout the session.

As we learn practical herbal medicine preparation and theory, we will also be taking exploratory plant walks so you can get to know the medicines in their natural and cultivated habitats, throughout the seasons. We will incorporate creative projects to help expand your perspective and understanding of plants and their spiritual and energetic attributes

By the end of the course you will have over 38 herbal preparations ready for use, along with the experience to feel confident in preparing and using these remedies on your own.

What’s new for 2026:

2026 marks the fourth year of The Herbal Apothecary course, and we’re excited to introduce several updates based on our experience and student feedback:

  • Hybrid Learning Model – A new combination of in-person and online classes to increase accessibility and reduce travel time for out-of-town students.

  • In-Person Sessions: Now six full-day classes (9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.), allowing for immersive and focused learning experiences.

  • Online Classes: Interspersed 2 hour online sessions between in-person classes to support ongoing learning, connection, and Q&A.

  • Expanded Home-Based Learning: Additional homework and graded assignments will be incorporated to deepen integration of material and ensure students gain practical competency and confidence.

  • Wild Medicinals Plant Walks: All enrolled students receive free attendance to all Wild Medicinals plant walks during the year of enrollment (optional but encouraged to attend).

These changes are designed to offer more flexibility, depth, and connection to both the medicine and the community of herbal learners.
